Do you put yourself first? If you are reading this probably not. After all putting yourself first is considered selfish, self absorbed or the many other negative terms people like to use. If you want to be the best parent, partner, lover, employee, employer, person then you have to put yourself first. How can you help others before you can help yourself? If you are not the best you can be then everything you do for others is second rate and you don’t want to have second rate relationships.

These cold mornings I really appreciate modern heating. I hit the button and the heat pump kicks in taking the chill off within minutes being the right temperature within 15 minutes. Somehow it has converted the heat from outside (it’s about 5 degrees outside) and made it warm inside. What amazing technology. I used a wood fire for a while at my last house – bugger that. Too hot, too cold, bugs, snakes, ash and splinters. And for all the greenies that keep burning wood – it’s not good for the environment either!

Are you the type of person who can do anything? The septic tank is blocked. You can fix that. A door needs replacing. You can do that. The house needs repainting. You can do that. A full house renovation. You can do that. So can I. What a bloody idiot! I have noticed the people who always say I have no skills around the house make sure they haven’t and live in bliss because of it.

Probably sounds mean but I think my cat has lived too long. She’s coming up to her twenty-first birthday (human years) and that’s well past our original agreement. She has never been a popular cat having been outclassed by her twin brother who was our number one cat. In fact the other cats disliked her so much they run a scheme that kept her in the stable for years. She has outlived all of them by 4 years becoming the number one cat.
