Feel the Burn.


	These cold mornings I really appreciate modern heating. I hit the button and the heat pump kicks in taking the chill off within minutes being the right temperature within 15 minutes. Somehow it has converted the heat from outside (it’s about 5 degrees outside) and made it warm inside. What amazing technology. I used a wood fire for a while at my last house – bugger that. Too hot, too cold, bugs, snakes, ash and splinters. And for all the greenies that keep burning wood – it’s not good for the environment either! Got back from my walk, turned on the news and our Prime-Minister is on the way out. At the time of writing this it appears Kevin Rudd has no hope of holding onto power. It is fascinating that fear may have brought him down. Julia Gillard has been a very loyal supporter offering no suggestion of a challenge even if many of her party wanted her to. Kevin Rudd then tests the numbers because he fears a challenge and precipitates the very thing he was afraid of. It’s very embarrassing for the leader that decimated John Howard at the last election. His new slogan may read “Kevin 07, gone before 11”. I don’t think the labor party has a lot to be proud of since the election (either has the opposition for that matter). Rudd finally has a win with Telstra and it might be his only one before he has gone. Whether they change leaders or not we need a better effort from our government.
